Back to school challenge #7

Back to school challenge
Victorine Originals challenge blog

Good morning crafty friends.
Today is the start of a new challenge over on the Victorine Originals blog.

We have a new and yet another wonderful mood board for inspiration for you.

Isnt it pretty neat???

You can use anything that inspires you from the pictures,  you can go with the theme or you can go with one of the colors.
So many different ways to enter a project.

My inspiration for you today is a wooden paper weight/sign for a teachers desk.

I found this wood peice on clearance that the dollar store. And I made it my own. I started off by using gesso to cover it up and get it ready for new paint. I painted the front and back portions in the green, red, blue and yellow. Once that was dry , I was able to use washi tape and tape off what I wanted to stay and what I wanted outlined in black. I painted the black and let that dry. Then I removed the washi tape.
At this point I thought about stamping on paper and attaching the paper to the wood because if I messed up stamping. I would have to repaint before I could stamp again. But I took the chance and stamped directly on the wood with each stamp. I used the pencil 74536-B,
From Victorine Originals.

Arent these such cute stamps???
You can own them too and they wont cost you very much either which is a win win!!

Make sure you head over to the blog and check out all the details plus the rest of the DT has some amazing projects to show you to get you inspired.
I hope to see your next project linked up this go round.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs
Amy

I'm Late, I'm Late for a very important Date!!!!

I'm Late, I'm Late
For a very important date!!!

I am up on the Victorine Originals blog today to share my card using the White rabbit and the I'm Late sentiment.

These Amazing stamps sure take me back to my childhood.

I had the perfect paper to use, it being somewhat like the crazy alice and wonderland world we remember.
After choosing my papers I began stamping away trying to find the right color ink to use and wether to emboss or not.
I stamped this rabbit image probably 10 times.
I settled with the black ink and to heat emboss. I think it brought out the image wonderfully.

I decided to add a little white between the dark colors to make it pop.
And after placing my sentiment for a while in different spots. I thought it looked better inside the card.

I added a clock brad which I cut off the metal brad part in the back and added 3D dots to make it pop up a little on the card.

I hope you enjoyed my post today
Dont forget to join in our challenge going on right now.

Love Canvas/ Oriental Trading Company product review

Love Canvas
#oriental trading company

Hey crafty friends.
I'm here today to share with you a canvas I made using the burlap covered canvas from Oriental trading Company

I started by brushing some gesso across the canvas. Not the whole canvas just enough to give it some texture.
I then added some color by using bubble wrap and some paint.
Using a stencil, I painted the word Love.
Some of them I used in their original color. Using brads to hold them together.
The other 2, I used Ken Oliver Mineral Burst to add some color.

I attached them to the canvas using my hot glue gun.
I also added a few touches with ribbon. Using my crochet needle, I thread some brown ribbon thru the canvas.
And to top it off with paper butterflies I recieved from a friend a while back.

It did take me a minute to get use to using a different kind of canvas. I'm use to a regular canvas that is not see thru. But after playing around I found that it has it's positives. I was able to add ribbon differently than usual. I could also attach things to the canvas because of the holes in the burlap. It opened me up to new ideas. Which I love.
The other thing I noticed about the flower petals is if you add something for color and use a heat tool, dont get too close as the heat will melt them. Crafty tip.

Growing in Unity Blog Hop 2017

Growing in Unity Blog Hop 2017

Hey there crafty friends!!!
Today is the day for another awesome blog hop by Unity Stamp Company.
Its all us Growing in Unity gals getting together and creating for you once again.
You also get the chance to win win win!!
How fun is that??

If your coming to my blog first, don't forget to go back and start at the beginning of the hop with Iona

Today I have for you a Hello Card I made.

Using a stamp from the Be Different Set and a Hello stamp from Unity.
This stamp is beautiful and as much as I wanted to use it on a canvas this go round, I decided a sweet hello card would be nice.
I started out by choosing some soft tone papers. I stamped the beautiful stamp in black ink.
It really is bold and soft at the same time.
I added the hello and popped it off the card using 3D dots.
When I got to this point, I really felt it needed more. And butterflies are always a great addition to any project.
And if you know me, you know I love butterflies.
I punched out the butterflies using my fiskars punch and outlined them with super doodle gel pens.
These pens really flow nicely and are easy to use.  They do have glitter in them but its really hard to capture it in the photos from a phone. Even in the sun it took away from the whole card. And I didn't want that.
Another photo for your viewing

I hope you enjoyed my card today.
If you did, Please follow me because I have more lovely creations in store for you since I am now on an amazing DT and we have a challenge blog. And Please leave a comment.

Victorine Originals Ahoy Landlubbers challenge #6

Ahoy Landlubbers challenge #6
At
Victorine Originals

Today is the start of a new challenge over at Victorine Originals Blog.

We now have these wonderful new mood boards for each challenge.
I hope you find something from them that inspires you to join in and win.

This week's mood board

Beautiful isn't it???
There is so much inspiration on this mood board and if you need more, check out my project and all the Design Team's creations over on the blog.

For my inspiration for you today,
I made this amazing mixed media canvas.

WOOT!!
I love how this turned out.
I sure hope you do too.
I used Victorine Originals Nautical stamp set. I ended up using 5 stamps from this set. Wow. I love it so much, I really could have used them all.
I started by using deco art products to get me going on a base for my project. I mixed some modeling paste with black paint. I used an Andy Skinner stencils, snakes web to add texture. It actually looked like rocks to me.
I also used sand paste to add a little different texture to one side of the canvas.
I then gave it a layer of white gesso.
By doing this it not only sealed my canvas but also the black rocks would give me a shadow of them to work with instead of having to paint each one and try to lighten them up.
I then added my color.
Using color burst I first spritzed my canvas with a light cover of water then squeeze a little color burst out. Using my squirt bottle I then sprayed more water moving the color around the canvas where I want it.
After that dries, I rubbed a little Distress inks around the edges. I can then start positioning my peices around the canvas.
I decided to also wrapped the canvas in twine. Like a post would be wrapped in rope.
I painted the small gears and hexagon shape to give them a rusted look by using Decoart media fluid acrylics.
I stamped a few things using the Nautical set from Victorine Originals.
I do have to say these stamps really work well on wood too.
After messing with all of my peices for a lil while, each one finally found their place.
I ended everything with a few gems and a Nautical sentiment.

I hope my project inspire you to join in our challenge this week.
You have a chance to win and a chance to show us your creations too.
Make sure you head over to the blog and see what all the amazing Design Team has created to inspire you.

Felt with the heart

Felt with the heart

Hi there friends
I'm up on the Victorine Originals Blog to share my latest
Creation with you.
I've been playing alot lately with color.  For today's project, I used the beautiful sentiment stamp "Felt with the heart".

This stamp is so full of truth.
And such a beautiful saying for a tag.
Here's my project.

I used a precut tag for this. Using my Gelatos, I made lines up and down the tag, then rubbed it in using my finger.  I then put my tag in a box (to protect from over spray) and sprinkled with Ken Oliver color burst.  Spritzing with water until it looked how I wanted it. Using my heat gun I dried my tag.  I then stamped my sentiment and heat embossed it with black embossing powder.  I added some lace ribbon to top off the tag.

I hope you enjoyed my project today. Don't forget to join in our weekly challenges. We have new mood boards for the challenges and they are so inspiring and amazing.

Head over and check out my post on the Victorine Originals blog and please leave those comments.
