Today is the start of a new challenge over at Victorine Originals Blog.

We now have these wonderful new mood boards for each challenge.
I hope you find something from them that inspires you to join in and win.

This week's mood board

Beautiful isn't it???
There is so much inspiration on this mood board and if you need more, check out my project and all the Design Team's creations over on the blog.

For my inspiration for you today,
I made this amazing mixed media canvas.

WOOT!!
I love how this turned out.
I sure hope you do too.
I used Victorine Originals Nautical stamp set. I ended up using 5 stamps from this set. Wow. I love it so much, I really could have used them all.
I started by using deco art products to get me going on a base for my project. I mixed some modeling paste with black paint. I used an Andy Skinner stencils, snakes web to add texture. It actually looked like rocks to me.
I also used sand paste to add a little different texture to one side of the canvas.
I then gave it a layer of white gesso.
By doing this it not only sealed my canvas but also the black rocks would give me a shadow of them to work with instead of having to paint each one and try to lighten them up.
I then added my color.
Using color burst I first spritzed my canvas with a light cover of water then squeeze a little color burst out. Using my squirt bottle I then sprayed more water moving the color around the canvas where I want it.
After that dries, I rubbed a little Distress inks around the edges. I can then start positioning my peices around the canvas.
I decided to also wrapped the canvas in twine. Like a post would be wrapped in rope.
I painted the small gears and hexagon shape to give them a rusted look by using Decoart media fluid acrylics.
I stamped a few things using the Nautical set from Victorine Originals.
I do have to say these stamps really work well on wood too.
After messing with all of my peices for a lil while, each one finally found their place.
I ended everything with a few gems and a Nautical sentiment.

I hope my project inspire you to join in our challenge this week.
You have a chance to win and a chance to show us your creations too.
Make sure you head over to the blog and see what all the amazing Design Team has created to inspire you.
Don't be shy!!! Join in the challenge!!

Hugs
Amy
