My project for today,  I decided to play again with the Ken Oliver color bursts for the background but decided to stamp the image as part of the background too.  I didn't use these beautiful flowers yet from the same kit "Difference Maker".

I also used the same sentiment as before just cause I like it a lot.

Thank you for visiting me this week.  Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there.  Have a great weekend. I will see you next week for the winner announcement.

Growing in Unity 2025 Day 4

Welcome back for Day 4 of Growing in Unity!!  For today's project I was just playing around with Ken Olivers color burst and came up with a pretty neat background.  So I wanted to use one of the feathers I didn't use and came up with a clean and simple card.  I also wanted to use the sentiment Difference Maker.  I think it's pretty cool to have a meaning or definition with it.

I also added some layers to make everything pop.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure you comment every day for your chance to win some Unity.  2 winners will be chosen.  So go back to all previous days if you haven't already.  See you again tomorrow for my last day.

Growing in Unity 2025 Day 3

Welcome back for Day 3 of Growing in Unity!!

Today I'm sharing a more simple but still beautiful card.  I used the same kit from Unity Stamp Company "Difference Maker".  This time I am using the silhouette of the night sky.  Such a beautiful stamp.

I stamped using a lighter blue colored cardstock and my Cathrine Pooler blue suede shoes ink.  I stamped my image and then using my blending brushes to add a little distress around the edges making it look shadowed in.

I was just going to layer with darker blue behind but found a black glitter paper in my stash.  So I added it in between to give it a little sparkle.  I also used the most empowered sentiment I've seen yet. "She overcame everything that was meant to destroy her".  It really hits home for me.  I added a little color behind to make it pop and used thick double stick tape to adhere it to bring it up off the card.

I hope you enjoy this card as much as I do. Remember to comment each and every day for your chance to win. Go back and comment on the previous day if you haven't already. Each comment is a chance to win.

Thanks for stopping by.  I will be back again tomorrow with another fun project.

Growing in Unity 2025 Day 2

Welcome back everyone.  Today is Day 2 of my Growing in Unity week.   If you have visited my blog before you already know I can't help myself but to get a little bit inky and create some kind of mixed media.  So today I am sharing a tag I made using the same kit from Unity Stamp Company that I used yesterday. Difference Maker.

I have always loved positive quotes and/or sayings and that is one of the many reasons I love Unity Stamps.  There is so many amazing stamps with positive and encouraging vibes.  Something this world really needs more of.

I started with a  blank tag.  Using black gesso I covered the entire tag to prime it.  After drying with my heat gun I added a second, thicker coat to add a little texture.  I then chose a honey comb stencil from my stash. Using deco art modeling paste I stenciled a small section.  I used my heat gun again to dry it quicker.  By doing this it will allow the modeling paste to crack at times. Which I am ok with because I like the cracks.  To avoid them your project should air dry.

I added a few fun colors of paint for the background.  I stamped the feathers in blue ink on white cardstock and fussy cut them out.  I found a few other things in my stash to add some layers. I also stamped the sentiment "Strength". Which I found in a different stamp set by Unity.  I just thought it fit.

I hope you found some inspiration today.  Remember to leave a comment for your chance to win.  2 winners will be chosen and each with get a $20 credit to Unity!  Please also pay attention to not post anonymously or to re-comment on your comment with your name.  Thanks for stopping by. See you again tomorrow.

Growing in Unity 2025 Day 1

Good Morning crafty friends. Today is my Day 1 as a Growing in Unity Girl.  One of my favorite things to do since I absolutely love Unity Stamp Company.

One thing I like to do is use one of my Unity kits of the month and use a variety of the stamps it contains to show a different variety of things you can do.  So I hope to inspire you to step outside the box and get creative.

This week I plan to use Lot of the month: Difference Maker.

My card today I chose to work with the sunflower.  At first I stamped it and colored it but didn't like how it was looking. So I stamped again, used Tim Holt's distress crayons and fussy cut the flower out.  I then stamped the image again leaving it uncolored and used my distress trimmer.  I wanted to used a teal color in the background so I layered a few different colors to make the image pop.  I then added the colored image at an angle to give it a 3D look.  I also added the sentiment "Life is Tough but so are you!"

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Remember to comment every day this week for your chance to win.  Prize will be a $20 gift credit to Unity Stamp Company  and there will be 2 winners soale sure you comment.

I will be back tomorrow with another creation.

Growing in Unity Day 5

Good Morning crafty friends.  Its Day 5 and my final day as your Unity Gal!!!  It went by so fast.  I hope I was able to inspire you all with at least one of my projects.  Remember to go back and comment if you haven't already on all 5 days for the chance to win some Unity.  I will draw my winners at the beginning of the week, giving everyone plenty of time to comment.

Let's get into todays project.  I created my background using a stencil from my stash and blending brushes.  I wanted to use the girl stamp on this one and highlight the "Be A lot" stamp set.  I decided I was going to leave all the color in the background and not color the stamp itself so it would pop out more.  Also there is no "BE" stamp, so I used it from the sentiment I used earlier and stamped it above "Alot". I backed each stamp with blue cardstock to make it stand out more.

I hope everyone enjoyed my week as I always love creating using Unity Stamps.  That's it for today.  Don't forget to leave those comments.

Growing in Unity Day 4

Good Morning everyone.  Today is Day 4 of my GIU week.  It always goes by so fast.  I am using my Growing in Unity stamp set "Be Alot".

My son is Graduating High School this year.  Seems like that went by too fast too.  Wasn't he just a little boy just yesterday?  Sheesh!!  I am proud of the man he is becoming.  He graduated early and will walk with his class in 2 weeks.  So I made this card for him.

I used The feather stamp and stamped it on white card stock in black.  I used Tonic studio colored card stock to back the white.  I also used my Tim Holtz distress cutter to cut my paper.

Instead of a Happy Graduation as a sentiment I chose "Shine bright".  Because that's all I hope he will do from this day on.  Shine bright in everything he does.

Ok. That's it for today.  I will see you back her tomorrow for Day 5.  Make sure you leave a comment on every one of my posts because you could be the lucky winner of some Amazing Unity!!

Growing in Unity Day 3

Good Morning crafty friends.  Today I'm sharing a fun wood canvas I created using Unity Stamps "Be A lot" stamp set.

I used Ken Olivers color burst and water color burst for the background.  Had a little fun getting messy.  I used paper towels to help soak some of the water up so it didn't soak the wood.  It was a little different than a regular canvas.  But still turned out pretty.  I used the same sentiment as yesterday and the butterfly.  I absolutely love this butterfly. The details are amazing. I stamped it twice to get a fluttering effect.

I hope you enjoyed today's project.  Come back tomorrow for more creative inspiration. And make sure to leave comments every day for your chance to win some Unity goodness.

(I didn't realize my post didn't post today. So here it is. Sorry about that.)

Growing in Unity Day 2

Good Morning and welcome back for Day 2 of my Growing in Unity week.  Let's go ahead and get started.  I de ided to have a little more fun with my blending brushes and ink pads.  I used my Catherine Pooler stamp pads: Limoncello, it's a boy and sued shoes colors.

First I knew I wanted to used the cute little bees from the Be A Lot stamp set.  So I decided to use a bee hive stencil.  I first used the yellow color (Limoncello) and planned to only use that for the back ground but ended up having a happy lil accident with some blue and I really liked how it was turning out. So ai added some more blue tones.

I stamped my bee's in black and I chose the sentiment for all the Be's to go with the Bee's.  Plus I love the positive sentiment.  We all need to remember or be reminded of how good enough we really are and to just be YOU!!!  I wanted to add a layer so I bordered the sentiment with a wood piece to match and attached it with double sided tape to pop it off the card.

I hope you like my card and enjoyed some inspiration.  Make sure you come back again tomorrow and leave comments every day for a chance to win some Unity.  See you all again Tomorrow.
