Your Wings Were Ready/VO Challenge #9 Wings

Your Wings Were Ready
Victorine Originals
Challenge #9

Hey there crafty friends.
Today is the day for another challenge over on the Victorine Originals blog!!!!

Our Inspiration Mood board is wonderful.
Plenty to get you inspired.

The Theme is Wings, but you can choose anything from one of the pictures that inspire you or you can go with one or more of the colors.
Plenty of room to create something and join in the fun.
As always there is something to be won if you enter. So head on over now and link up your project.

Now onto my inspiration for you.

I made a beautiful canvas for you today using the wings from Victorine Originals Wings set (10580-X)

And a slightly different view.

I'm going to be honest, this was a tricky one for me. Considering the theme.
My family just lost my Dad a couple weeks ago.  Life hasn't been the same for me. When I returned home to find which stamps I was sent to use for this challenge and I saw the wings, I just broke down.
But I knew I had to do something, like it was a sign. I had to in some way use this as part of my morning for my Dad. And a way to channel my heart thru my art.
I was pretty set on using the saying as soon as I saw it!!!

I started with a clean canvas. I used DecoArt modeling paste with some stencils to add texture and used some distress stain directly to the canvas.
It was more of a test. I didn't know how the canvas would take it without using gesso first.  It did soak up some of the stain but it did hold it pretty well.

I gathered quite a few peices from my stash and started peices everything together.
When I found the Hot air balloon, I thought it was perfect.
I stamped the wings to white card stock and after painting the hot air balloon white, attached the wings to the side.
I left it white as if it was my dad's last ride to heaven.
After rearranging peices for a while, I began painting and adding color here and there.
After everything was attached, I splattered a little white paint.
My words are stickers that I stuck to a page from an old book, then cut out.
Wings were cut out using an alphabet die.

So now it's time to join in the challenge over at Victorine Originals!!
Link up your project before the deadline.

Thank you for stopping by today.
I hope I was able to inspire you with my canvas, and maybe you can take a few words to think about when you go.

If your parents are still here... Love them, hug them, call them, help them, cherish them.
It's too late when they are gone.
Cherish those memories.
Heaven received one heck of a man!!!
This one's for you Daddy!!!

Thanks for being you

Thanks for being you

Good morning crafty friends! I'm up on the Victorine Originals blog today to share a Thank You card I made using a fun Angel from the Beautiful Angel set.    (10566-X)
(74407-B) from Victorine Originals

I thought of making a Thank you card because I am so thankful for my DT sisters and Sabrina for covering for me the last few weeks while I dealt with a death in my family of a very important person to me.
So to all of you, really a Thank you doesn't seems to be enough. But a huge

And the inside

I started out by choosing some fun and colorful papers from my stash.
I then die cut the pretty design and backed it in white card stock.
I then stamped directly on the paper.
I also die cut for the sentiment.  I layered a few colors and attached them to my card.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.
Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to join in our challenge  HERE which will be ending soon.
Here's the mood board again for that challenge

Be sure to join in and here is my inspiration peice I made for the challenge.

Love You Canvas
Victorine Originals
Purple Challenge

Hey crafty friends.
Today is the first day of a new challenge

Here is our mood board for inspiration

You can use anything that inspires you from the board. The theme is purple, use the color purple or something from the pictures that inspires you.

Here is my inspiration for you.

I made a mixed media canvas using Victorine Originals small and Medium butterfly.
I started my canvas by using tissue paper from Hazel and Ruby and Modge Podge to cover the canvas. After drying it gives the canvas a slick surface.
I then added the clock peices using an Andy Skinner stencil and modeling paste.
I added paint here and there, I stamped the butterflies in different places.
Then dabbed it with white paint to give it a different effect.
I also painted and stamped a tag to add demention.
I added paper lace and flowers as well as a few other peices from my stash.
I used chalk markers on the clock numbers to make them pop.
The last thing was the wood Love You peices.

I hope my project inspire you to join in our challenge over on the Victorine Originals blog.

Back to school challenge #7

Back to school challenge
Victorine Originals challenge blog

Good morning crafty friends.
Today is the start of a new challenge over on the Victorine Originals blog.

We have a new and yet another wonderful mood board for inspiration for you.

Isnt it pretty neat???

You can use anything that inspires you from the pictures,  you can go with the theme or you can go with one of the colors.
So many different ways to enter a project.

My inspiration for you today is a wooden paper weight/sign for a teachers desk.

I found this wood peice on clearance that the dollar store. And I made it my own. I started off by using gesso to cover it up and get it ready for new paint. I painted the front and back portions in the green, red, blue and yellow. Once that was dry , I was able to use washi tape and tape off what I wanted to stay and what I wanted outlined in black. I painted the black and let that dry. Then I removed the washi tape.
At this point I thought about stamping on paper and attaching the paper to the wood because if I messed up stamping. I would have to repaint before I could stamp again. But I took the chance and stamped directly on the wood with each stamp. I used the pencil 74536-B,
From Victorine Originals.

Arent these such cute stamps???
You can own them too and they wont cost you very much either which is a win win!!

Make sure you head over to the blog and check out all the details plus the rest of the DT has some amazing projects to show you to get you inspired.
I hope to see your next project linked up this go round.
Thanks for stopping by.

I'm Late, I'm Late for a very important Date!!!!

I'm Late, I'm Late
For a very important date!!!

I am up on the Victorine Originals blog today to share my card using the White rabbit and the I'm Late sentiment.

These Amazing stamps sure take me back to my childhood.

I had the perfect paper to use, it being somewhat like the crazy alice and wonderland world we remember.
After choosing my papers I began stamping away trying to find the right color ink to use and wether to emboss or not.
I stamped this rabbit image probably 10 times.
I settled with the black ink and to heat emboss. I think it brought out the image wonderfully.

I decided to add a little white between the dark colors to make it pop.
And after placing my sentiment for a while in different spots. I thought it looked better inside the card.

I added a clock brad which I cut off the metal brad part in the back and added 3D dots to make it pop up a little on the card.

I hope you enjoyed my post today
Dont forget to join in our challenge going on right now.

Thanks for stopping by

Love Canvas/ Oriental Trading Company product review

Love Canvas
#oriental trading company

Hey crafty friends.
I'm here today to share with you a canvas I made using the burlap covered canvas from Oriental trading Company

I started by brushing some gesso across the canvas. Not the whole canvas just enough to give it some texture.
I then added some color by using bubble wrap and some paint.
Using a stencil, I painted the word Love.
Some of them I used in their original color. Using brads to hold them together.
The other 2, I used Ken Oliver Mineral Burst to add some color.

I attached them to the canvas using my hot glue gun.
I also added a few touches with ribbon. Using my crochet needle, I thread some brown ribbon thru the canvas.
And to top it off with paper butterflies I recieved from a friend a while back.

It did take me a minute to get use to using a different kind of canvas. I'm use to a regular canvas that is not see thru. But after playing around I found that it has it's positives. I was able to add ribbon differently than usual. I could also attach things to the canvas because of the holes in the burlap. It opened me up to new ideas. Which I love.
The other thing I noticed about the flower petals is if you add something for color and use a heat tool, dont get too close as the heat will melt them. Crafty tip.

Disclosure: Oriental Trading has sent me products to review but all opinions are my own.

I hope you liked my project today.
Please leave a comment and let me know. Also, I'd love if you would follow my blog.
I have so many thing coming up to share with you and inspire you.

Growing in Unity Blog Hop 2017

Growing in Unity Blog Hop 2017

Hey there crafty friends!!!
Today is the day for another awesome blog hop by Unity Stamp Company.
Its all us Growing in Unity gals getting together and creating for you once again.
You also get the chance to win win win!!
How fun is that??

If your coming to my blog first, don't forget to go back and start at the beginning of the hop with Iona

Today I have for you a Hello Card I made.

Using a stamp from the Be Different Set and a Hello stamp from Unity.
This stamp is beautiful and as much as I wanted to use it on a canvas this go round, I decided a sweet hello card would be nice.
I started out by choosing some soft tone papers. I stamped the beautiful stamp in black ink.
It really is bold and soft at the same time.
I added the hello and popped it off the card using 3D dots.
When I got to this point, I really felt it needed more. And butterflies are always a great addition to any project.
And if you know me, you know I love butterflies.
I punched out the butterflies using my fiskars punch and outlined them with super doodle gel pens.
These pens really flow nicely and are easy to use.  They do have glitter in them but its really hard to capture it in the photos from a phone. Even in the sun it took away from the whole card. And I didn't want that.
Another photo for your viewing

I hope you enjoyed my card today.
If you did, Please follow me because I have more lovely creations in store for you since I am now on an amazing DT and we have a challenge blog. And Please leave a comment.
And dont forget, by leaving a comment, you have not one but two chances to win because there will be

Victorine Originals Ahoy Landlubbers challenge #6

Ahoy Landlubbers challenge #6
Victorine Originals

Today is the start of a new challenge over at Victorine Originals Blog.

We now have these wonderful new mood boards for each challenge.
I hope you find something from them that inspires you to join in and win.

This week's mood board

Beautiful isn't it???
There is so much inspiration on this mood board and if you need more, check out my project and all the Design Team's creations over on the blog.

For my inspiration for you today,
I made this amazing mixed media canvas.

I love how this turned out.
I sure hope you do too.
I used Victorine Originals Nautical stamp set. I ended up using 5 stamps from this set. Wow. I love it so much, I really could have used them all.
I started by using deco art products to get me going on a base for my project. I mixed some modeling paste with black paint. I used an Andy Skinner stencils, snakes web to add texture. It actually looked like rocks to me.
I also used sand paste to add a little different texture to one side of the canvas.
I then gave it a layer of white gesso.
By doing this it not only sealed my canvas but also the black rocks would give me a shadow of them to work with instead of having to paint each one and try to lighten them up.
I then added my color.
Using color burst I first spritzed my canvas with a light cover of water then squeeze a little color burst out. Using my squirt bottle I then sprayed more water moving the color around the canvas where I want it.
After that dries, I rubbed a little Distress inks around the edges. I can then start positioning my peices around the canvas.
I decided to also wrapped the canvas in twine. Like a post would be wrapped in rope.
I painted the small gears and hexagon shape to give them a rusted look by using Decoart media fluid acrylics.
I stamped a few things using the Nautical set from Victorine Originals.
I do have to say these stamps really work well on wood too.
After messing with all of my peices for a lil while, each one finally found their place.
I ended everything with a few gems and a Nautical sentiment.

I hope my project inspire you to join in our challenge this week.
You have a chance to win and a chance to show us your creations too.
Make sure you head over to the blog and see what all the amazing Design Team has created to inspire you.

Felt with the heart

Felt with the heart

Hi there friends
I'm up on the Victorine Originals Blog to share my latest
Creation with you.
I've been playing alot lately with color.  For today's project, I used the beautiful sentiment stamp "Felt with the heart".

This stamp is so full of truth.
And such a beautiful saying for a tag.
Here's my project.

I used a precut tag for this. Using my Gelatos, I made lines up and down the tag, then rubbed it in using my finger.  I then put my tag in a box (to protect from over spray) and sprinkled with Ken Oliver color burst.  Spritzing with water until it looked how I wanted it. Using my heat gun I dried my tag.  I then stamped my sentiment and heat embossed it with black embossing powder.  I added some lace ribbon to top off the tag.

I hope you enjoyed my project today. Don't forget to join in our weekly challenges. We have new mood boards for the challenges and they are so inspiring and amazing.

Head over and check out my post on the Victorine Originals blog and please leave those comments.

The Beauty of Spring

The beauty of spring

Hey crafty friends, I up again on the Victorine Originals blog this week to share a pretty yet simple card with you all.

This beautiful flower stamp is so pretty and reminded me of all the blooming going around right now.

I dug thru my paper stash and found this beautiful nature pattern paper from club scrap. I actually picked this up at a flea market along with some other sets they sent out. Love it. I layered a few different colors to help bring out the colors. I stamped my image a few times and only colored/highlighted the main flower with a pretty purple gel pen from super doodle.
Sorry the photo is darker as it was a cloudy day before the rain. I still love the way it made the glitter shine.
Don't forget to head over and join in our challenge: 4th of July. It ends this Friday, still plenty of time to link up your project.

Simply Me Dreamcatcher

Simply Me

Hello crafty friends,
Today is my first post as one of the new DT over on the Victorine Originals blog.  Woot!  Make you go check out our blog and see all the great and amazing projects the design team is creating.  For my project today, I decided to do something I am comfortable doing, a mixed media canvas using the Dream catcher stamp.

When I first saw this stamp, I fell in love with it. It's simple and beautiful.

Starting out with a 6X6 canvas, I added blues using Decoart media (cyan, turquoise &teal).  I then speckled paint around the background as well as the flowers I added later with cyan, white & magenta. As I was waiting for that to dry, I grabbed a price of brown cardstock & rubbed it down with Tim Holtz Distress paint-walnut stain, then stamped my image in white & then black. Tearing around the image to give it the look I wanted. I used Ken Olivers, color burst to add color to a white lace like paper I had.
After finding all the accessories from my stash and the perfect wood veneer saying by simple stories, I began to place everything together, moving peices around until they found their spot on the canvas.
Sometimes that takes a while, but if your new to mixed media anything, don't give up. Just keep moving those peices until they fit. You may have to take away and add something different, but it's all worth it in the end.

I hope you've enjoyed my post today, I have added a list of all supplies used at the end of this post.
Thank you for coming by and don't forget we are doing challenges every other week so go check out the challenge right now on the blog. Please join in & show us your take on Father's. It ends this Friday.

Supplies used:
Victorine Originals: dreamcatcher stamp

Ken Oliver color burst
Simple stories wood veneer
Maya Road linen mini banner
K&C company vellum butterflies

Victorine Originals Father's day Challenge #3

Victorine Originals
Father's Day
Challenge #3

It's all starts today!!!

Hey crafty friends today is my first post as a design team member of Victorine Originals.
And the Father's day challenge starts today.
I hope you head on over to the Victorine Originals blog and join in with us!!!

I made a Fathers Day card to inspire you.
I used the "man on boat" stamp and "Happy Father's Day" sentiment stamp from Victorine Originals stamp company.

My first step was figuring out what paper this stamp went well with and after searching thru my stash, I found a blue paper that looked like a lake or ocean.
The pattern was perfect.
I stamped my image in black, going back over the silhouette with a black marker to darken the image. I left the shadow below the boat alone as to make it look more like the shadow of water moving behind.

I then took some markers and crayons to color in the sunset. I added some twine to add that little extra that it needed. Masculine cards always seem to be the hardest for most. But I think what it all comes down too is finding embellishments that you can use for them, knowing that special persons hobby or likes and finding a stamp that is masculine does help too.
I finished up my card by layering it with different color papers and making those layers pop off the card with 3-D sticker adhesive and stamped the Happy Father's Day sentiment, also using 3-D sticker adhesive.

I hope you were able to find some inspiration in my card to make your own for your loved one, but don't forget to enter yours in the challenge for your chance to win.
Head on over to the challenge blog now!!!
To find out all the details and rules.
You got 2 weeks to enter.

GUI Day 5 2017

Growing in Unity
Day 5

Well, Today is the last day for my week as a Growing in Unity Girl.
It flies by way to quick.
I cant believe we are already on the last day.

Well, cant slow it down or stop it, so we might as well get on with it.  What do you think?

My favorite project and creation so far and I get to showcase it for GUI!!!

Here is my day 5 creation for you all.

I absolutely love it!!
I am such a Native American Indian lover...
Probably because it is apart of my history, But I love dream catchers and arrow head's and just learning about the history.

I actually will be hopefully going to a pow wow later on this month.  And I am super excited.
It is going to be fun.

now back to my Project.
I love this dream catcher stamp,  It was already chosen to be the centerpiece of this canvas.
I just had to build around it.
I used black gesso to seal my canvas, Then painted it black.
After it dried, I painted some dark blue on it.  I did not cover all the black, but most of it.

I then started adding my pieces. I had these feathers from Creative Embellishments that I have been holding on to forever.  I mean forever.  I knew a project would come up that they would be perfect with.  And it did.
I also painted them with blue and white to make them stand out.
I chose a few pieces of scrap paper from my stash, distressed them a little too.  I had these cool papers, I actually received a while back from a Unity order.  They were apart of my free gift.
I cut them in the shape of a tag and stamped my image twice. Once in White and once in black.  I wasn't aiming for the images to be lined up completely as to give it a different look.
After a while of adding and moving pieces around, my boyfriend was really strong about it needing some real feathers.
I took his advice and really glad I did.
Tthe best advice I can give someone who wants to try a 3D type canvas, is to keep moving and adding and taking away pieces until you get the look you want.
It takes some time, but in the end. It really helps everything come together.
I added peices of string, and the little extra things I found in my stash.  My final thing to do was give it a splash of white paint right on top. It really made the whole canvas pop.

This was so fun!! I love Mixed Media.  It is messy but who doesn't like the feeling of finishing an amazing project and looking down at your arms, hands and possibly your clothes and really knowing you worked hard to achieve this.
(sometimes my furbabies like to get a little paint dropped on them too. Its all apart of the fun).

here is a few more pics of my canvas

I hope you enjoyed this project as much as I did.
I had so much fun this week, Creating and being able to share and inspire everyone.  I hope I helped you think about stepping outside the box to try something new.

Don't forget to head over to Sharon's blog and check out what she has created for you all.
Leave a comment Here and on Sharon's blog for your chance to win.  There will be 2 winners from each blog.

But its nice to mix things up a bit.

Today we will head back to card making.
Here is today's project.

This photo was taken with the flash o so you can see the sparkle.

When I saw this stamp, I immediately thought of my Grandma.
She always has loved getting flowers.
Even though, usually it is hummingbirds that scream Grandma, so do these flowers.
I decided to make her a mothers day card with this stamp.
I colored it with Ken Oliver's new Mineral Burst.
Love the shine they give.

Mothers day has been tough for me the last 10+ years, since my mom passed away.  I have had a hard time joining in and sending cards, let alone making them myself.
My mother was and still is my biggest inspiration.
My best friend, the greatest mother anyone could ask for and plus, she was so creative too.
I am blessed to know, I got my creative side from her.
So today....
I wanted to showcase another great woman in my life...
Her mother, My Grandma!!!

She is the strongest woman I know... I could tell you stories that would leave you in Wow's and ah's!!!
None the less... She is amazing.
Always has been rooting for me and taking care of me in one way or another, even if it is what seems to be the smallest thing, a little advice goes along way.  So to me... It is huge.

She is such a blessing to me.
I will be sending this card out with a letter as well as some previous projects I have made, just for her.

Since I have other things to give her too, I also made this tag for her.

It is simple, yet perfect for her and I know she will love it.
I used the same image yet turned it and only used the top half of the stamp. I colored it using my super doodle gel pens. I felt it only needed a small amount of color and turned out beautiful.

I hope you enjoyed my creations today, and were inspired in one way or another.
